Counselling services for stress, anxiety, depression and confidence building

Counselling for adults, couples and young people in Chesham

Hi, I'm Jan and I'm all ears!

I’m a qualified stress counsellor based in Chesham. I provide counselling and coaching services for adults, teenagers and young people living in Chesham, Amersham and surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire.  I also offer professional training and consultancy in Stress Management for businesses and organisations.

My specialism is helping people with a broad range of stress related issues, affecting either personal or work life, and I have 30 years of experience in this field. My counselling sessions are particularly aimed at the management of anxiety and feelings of depression or low mood which can present themselves in many different ways – including OCD

I am a Senior Associate of The Royal Society of Medicine, and also, I am an Associate of ISMAuk, the leading professional body for Stress Awareness, Prevention and Management here in the UK.

I am also bound by ISMA’s code of Professional Standards & Ethics.

My unique approach to counselling is an eclectic mix of psychological models and counselling styles. As well as being a counsellor in Chesham, some of my local clients also refer to me as a Life Coach or Mentor.

That is because the foundation of my practice is a strong belief that counselling should be proactive and practical. I will help you understand the root cause of your symptoms, but importantly, I will also help you to move forward and think differently.

The Counselling Process

You might be apprehensive about the process. You might also feel as though seeking help from a counsellor or coach is somehow a sign of weakness.  I’d like to challenge that.  Getting help actually shows that you have inner strength and want to take control of your life.

My setting is safe, relaxed and totally non-judgemental. I am also fully CRB checked and fully insured and possess comprehensive Professional Liability Insurance. During my counselling sessions you have an opportunity to talk, be listened to and for your feelings to be validated. Chances are that we’ll also have a laugh together along the way too.

Believe that you can make a positive change. With the right support, a brighter future is possible.
